Chris Carter is legislative director for research with the University of California’s Office of Federal Governmental Relations, a role he has served in since March 2011. Before coming to the University of California, Chris served for eight years in a similar role with Princeton University as the associate director for the Office of Government Affairs. Prior to his time with Princeton, Chris worked for five years in the field of public relations, serving technology-oriented and financial services clients at Rogers and Associates in Los Angeles, and coordinating national public relations and community relations for Countrywide Financial Corporation. Chris has also served on Capitol Hill for three separate members of the California Congressional Delegation, including legislative director for Representative William Baker and a legislative aide to Representatives Robert Dornan and Wally Herger. Chris is a 1988 graduate of UCLA, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
