About My UCDC Network Account

Introduction

All Residents including students, faculty, staff and others staying at UCDC are provided with a network user account. Your username and password are the key to local and network resources at UCDC and enable you to:

  • Connect to the wired and wireless network
  • Register your networkable devices
  • Submit work orders, access public computer terminals and Pay-for-Print system in the Student Computer Lab on the 3rd floor
  • Enable faculty and staff  to access university-provided computer and local network resources

Most of your network user account issues can be handled through UCDC's self-help Password Management Portal (https://password.ucdc.edu). Below are a variety of helpful tips for managing and troubleshooting issues with your UCDC network user account. Click on a icon below for more information.

New User

Students and Short-term Stay Guests

Before your arrival at the UC Washington Center, the UCDC IT staff will send you your username and a temporary password via e-mail. You are strongly encouraged to change your password and update your user profile at UCDC's Password Management Portal in advance of your arrival. Updating your user profile enables you to reset or unlock your account 24/7 by yourself. If you are unable to do this before your arrival, please go to the Student Computer Lab on the 3rd floor after you check-in and make these changes.

Note: You must change your temporary password before you may connect any devices to the UCDC wired or wireless network.

 

UCDC Faculty and Staff

UCDC IT staff will provide you with your username, temporary password and an @ucdc.edu e-mail address upon your arrival. You will be asked to change your password at your first logon. After your first logon, you are strongly encouraged to update your user profile at UCDC's Password Management Portal in advance of your arrival. Updating your user profile enables you to reset or unlock your account 24/7  by yourself. 

 


Change My Temporary Password

You are strongly encouraged to change the temporary password provided to you by the UCDC IT and update your user profile as soon as possible. You may do this online or at UCDC's Student Computer Lab on the 3rd floor. 

  1. Set your browser to https://password.ucdc.edu. Enter your UCDC username and complete the CAPTCHA field. Click the OK button.
  2. On the Password Management Portal Home page click on "Change Your UCDC Temporary Password".
  3. Complete the CAPTCHA field and click the Next button. 
  4. Enter your temporary password. Click the Next button.
  5. Create a new password. Click the Next button to save your new password.
  6. Complete the My Questions and Answers Profile. Click the Next button to save your updated profile.

Update My Question & Answer Profile

You are strongly encouraged to create a user profile at UCDC's Password Management Portal in advance of your arrival. During the creation of your profile, you will be asked to provide answers for several questions about yourself. These will be used to prove your identity. Creating a user profile is simple and enables you to reset or unlock your account 24/7 by yourself. 

  1. Set your browser to https://password.ucdc.edu. Enter your UCDC username and complete the CAPTCHA field. Click the OK button.
  2. On the Password Management Portal Home page click on "My Questions and Answers Profile".
  3. Complete the CAPTCHA field. Click the Next button.
  4. Enter your UCDC network password. Click the Next button.
  5. Complete the My Questions and Answers Profile. Click the Next button to save your updated profile.

Forgot My Username

User accounts are created by the UCDC IT staff. If you forget your username, please contact the UCDC IT unit at itsupport@ucdc.edu.

 


Forgot My Password

If you have created your User Profile, you may logon to UCDC's self-help Password Management Portal and reset your password. The Portal is accessible to UCDC students and residents through UCDC's Student Computer Lab on the 3rd floor or online using any device that you have previously registered with UCDC. UCDC faculty and staff may access the Password Management Portal through their UCDC maintained computers. The Portal is available 24/7.

  1. To access the Password Management Portal:
    • If you are at the Student Computer Lab or on a UCDC maintained computer (faculty & staff only), click on the Forgot My Password link on the Windows logon screen.
    • If you are online, set your browser to https://password.ucdc.edu
  2. Enter your UCDC username and complete the CAPTCHA field. Click the OK button.
  3. On the Password Management Portal Home page click on "Forgot My Password".
  4. Complete the CAPTCHA field. Click the Next button.
  5. Answer questions from your User Profile to establish your identity. Click the Next button.
  6. Create a new password. Click the Next button to save your new password.

Unlock My Account

Your UCDC User Account will lock out after 3 unsuccessful attempts to logon. If you have created your User Profile, you may logon to UCDC's self-help Password Management Portal and unlock your user account. The Portal is accessible to UCDC students and residents through UCDC's Student Computer Lab on the 3rd floor or online using any device that you have previously registered with UCDC. UCDC faculty and staff may access the Password Management Portal through their UCDC maintained computers. The Portal is available 24/7. 

  1. To access the Password Management Portal:
    • If you are at the Student Computer Lab or on a UCDC maintained computer (faculty & staff only), click on the Forgot My Password link on the Windows logon screen.
    • If you are online, set your browser to https://password.ucdc.edu.
  2. Enter your UCDC username and complete the CAPTCHA field. Click the OK button.
  3. On the Password Management Portal Home page click on "Unlock My Account".
  4. Complete the CAPTCHA field. Click the Next button.
  5. Answer questions from your User Profile to establish your identity. Click the Next button to unlock your user account.
